Wedding Photography Preparation Checklist

2-3 WEEKS OUT

  • Drink your water! Get your sleep! Both are key to a good mindset and happy skin. :)

  • If you are an AC client, please ensure you submit your Wedding Detail Questionnaire (emailed to you a few months before your wedding) & schedule your final Timeline Meeting with me.

  • Create a list of all groupings for family formal portraits (suggestions in this blog post!) and include it in your Wedding Detail Questionnaire or share it with your photographer in advance. Be sure to inform everyone who will be photographed so they know to be present during photo time.

  • If you love detail photos, consider purchasing a ring box and/or hanger that matches your wedding vibe to display your rings and garments for photos. It’s not necessary, but it adds a nice touch.

1 WEEK OUT

  • Share photo timing with your wedding party and family members so they know when and where they’ll be needed for photos. For example, if your dad is coming to your hotel room for a "first look" with you, make sure he knows what time to be there.

  • Pack all details to be photographed in a box to give me (or have waiting in your room/wedding suite) when I arrive on the wedding day. This way, I can capture and return them to you. Details include (but are not limited to):

    • Your Save The Dates, wedding invitation suite, and other stationery.

    • Your shoes, wiped down (if worn) and ready to be photographed (don’t forget to remove any stickers/tags!)

    • Perfume, earrings, cuff links, and other accessories.

    • Any family heirloom pieces, including lace/dress/veil fragments.

    • Some of your floral for styling, to be added the day of your wedding to ensure it is fresh. Ask your florist to set aside a few extra blooms for this. They are familiar with this request and can often include some when delivering your bouquet.

WEDDING MORNING

  • Before I arrive, please clear the room of wrappers, coffee cups, trash, and anything else you don't want to be captured in photos. Consider hiding or tucking away suitcases, makeup bags, and other similar items.

  • Have the box of details for me to capture ready to go. I'll ask for it upon arrival!

  • Steam & hang important garments/accessories as soon as possible. They will be among the first things captured.

  • Make sure you have my cell phone number (available in my email signature & at the top of all contracts) in your phone should you need to reach me. Make sure to give my phone number to a trusted friend/family member (usually the person listed as your contact in the Wedding Detail Questionnaire) so they have it, as well!

  • RELAX and enjoy your wedding morning! I can't wait to celebrate with you!

xoxo, Alaura
